The sampler grill platter stands out as a must-try, allowing diners to experience various flavors in one dish. Authentic Indian flavors shine through the Chicken Tikka Masala and Lamb Curry, leaving taste buds craving more. Many guests appreciate the efficient service, which accommodates large parties swiftly, ensuring a seamless dining experience even on busy days. Outdoor seating is a highlight, especially during pleasant weather, adding to the casual vibe of the pub. The friendly staff often become a point of admiration, fostering a warm atmosphere that keeps people coming back.
While The Grove has much to offer, some diners note that the no-frills decor may not appeal to everyone looking for a more upscale dining experience. Limited dessert options occasionally disappoint patrons hoping to cap off their meal with something sweet. Busy dinner hours, particularly on weekends, can lead to a wait for tables, and reservations are wise for groups. A few customers also mention that the music volume can get loud during peak times, which might detract from conversation. Overall, while the ambiance captures a casual pub feel, some prefer a quieter dining environment.
Tried several other “Desi-type” pub/grills and this is by far the best in Birmingham (I’d even say and beyond). No frills but it makes up for on food quality and authenticity. Also servings so large able to take home and have full meal again next day. Please ignore anyone who may give a bad review - this place is well worth the prices and my 5*.
The best Indian bar and grill I’ve ever been too. We came on a quiet afternoon, was served quickly and all of the food was excellent. We can’t wait to come back again
Food was incredibly excellent, tasted authentic and rich in flavour. Every item had its own distinct taste rather than food being all a blend of one flavour. Service was awesome with very friendly staff!
I loved the food at the Grove Pub, Handsworth, Birmingham UK. We ordered the sampler grill platter. Everything was delicious. This place is a family favourite. It was very busy as usual and even though we had a large party the server seated us quickly, we didn't have a long wait. Great experience I wish I could go again.
Really lovely food! I had a Regular Mixed Grill and a Peshawari naan bread. It was HUGE! I enjoyed it and even took loads of it home!
Came here when they first opened. Food was great. Came back after the rebfurb it's actually so much better. The food is still good as ever. The atmosphere is bang on. It has a real community vibe. Only issue is the pool room's TV is a little loud 😂
This is a great pub with great food and a good selection of meals/currys to choose from. The lamb curry was simply perfect, done properly and with the right balance of spices and flavours. The fish pakora is the best I've tasted in any pub so far. The service is decent and the atmosphere is of a typical pub with lots of screens. Keep in mind that the food will all be prepared together so once they call you to collect your food you'll have all of it (starters and main course) in one go, so if you want to take it slow, just let them know in advance.
